Hélioscènes is a sound piece that considers noise not only as a disturbance, but as an opportunity for new interpretations. With reinterpreted soundtracks from earlier installations based on NASA recordings of solar storms, it transforms its elements into flickering sound patterns, ghostly impulses and echoes of distant eruptions.
At its core, the piece explores noise as both a dissolving force and a possible channel of communication in a space where scientific data meets mystical imagination. Inspired by esoteric theories of the 19th century, Hélioscènes understands the sun as more than just a source of light and energy, but as a thinking organ and a transmitter of spiritual forces. This goes back to ideas from Johann Wilhelm Ritter, that Walter Benjamin referred to.
In Hélioscènes there is no traditional melody or harmony. Instead, it drifts through layers of shifting sounds and spectral textures. Impulses rise and fade without ever completely settling down – like ghostly signals floating in space. The piece transports listeners into a world where sounds convey poetry, mystery and open questions about what we know and feel.

Hélioscènes ist ein Klangstück, das Geräusche nicht nur als Störung, sondern als Chance für neue Interpretationen betrachtet. Mit neu interpretierten Soundtracks aus früheren Installationen, die auf NASA-Aufnahmen von Sonnenstürmen basieren, verwandelt es seine Elemente in flackernde Klangmuster, gespenstische Impulse und Echos entfernter Eruptionen.
Im Kern untersucht das Stück Geräusche sowohl als auflösende Kraft als auch als möglichen Kommunikationskanal in einem Raum, in dem wissenschaftliche Daten auf mystische Vorstellungskraft treffen. Inspiriert von esoterischen Theorien des 19. Jahrhunderts versteht Hélioscènes die Sonne nicht nur als Quelle von Licht und Energie, sondern als denkendes Organ und Überträger spiritueller Kräfte. Dies geht auf Ideen von Johann Wilhelm Ritter zurück, auf die sich auch Walter Benjamin bezog.
In Hélioscènes gibt es keine traditionelle Melodie oder Harmonie. Stattdessen driftet es durch Schichten sich verändernder Klänge und spektraler Texturen. Impulse steigen auf und verklingen, ohne sich jemals vollständig zu beruhigen – wie geisterhafte Signale, die im Raum schweben. Das Stück entführt die Zuhörer in eine Welt, in der Klänge Poesie, Geheimnis und offene Fragen über das, was wir wissen und fühlen, vermitteln.
